DOUGLAS BRIDGE crooner, Jim Devine will be hoping it’s third time lucky this Sunday night on RTE’s latest singing competition, The Voice of Ireland.
Jim, who was thrust onto the national stage through the All-Ireland Talent Contest and who even made it to last year’s boot camp stage of X Factor, remained tight-lipped on his progression on the show this week (filming has already begun), but, the affable local gent did reveal TV cameras have already been to Douglas on a fact-finding mission.
“The show has already started, so this will be week three,” Jim told the Chronicle.
“This is the blind auditions stage where the judges pick their contestants. For people not familiar with the way it works, the singers come into the studio for the audition but the judges are sitting with their backs to the performer. Then after the singing, if a judge likes what he or she hears, they press a button and their chair swings round so they can see who’s been singing.”
