Disabled man subjected to ordeal in Maghaberry
JUSTICE Minister David Ford has been called on to explain why a severely disabled Strabane man was denied access to vital medication while in Maghaberry Prison.
Harry Arbuckle was arrested last week on the back of a fine dating back almost five years.
He spent four days in jail where, despite being barely able to walk, was made to climb two flights of stairs and denied medical attention.
Now Sinn Féin councillor Karina Carlin is demanding an explanation into Mr Arbuckle’s “shocking and disturbing” treatment.
