Police appeal to parents following drink swoops

POLICE in Strabane have issued an appeal to parents after a large quantity of drink was seized from young people at the weekend.

Seven people are facing fines or prosecution for breaching the on-street drinking bye laws and one male was arrested for obstruction and resisting arrest.

The police operation, known as ‘Operation Snapper’ was carried out on Friday and Saturday night and 125 bottles of beer, spirits, alcopops and cider were seized.
