DONEMANA withstood an incredible Brigade comeback to win the Northern Bank Senior Cup for the second time in four years at Magheramason last night.

Richard Kee’s men started the night needing just 59 runs to win from 39 overs with all 10 wickets still standing. However the Holm men were left reeling by a blistering four-wicket bowling burst by Johnny Thompson.

From the comfort of 47 without loss and chasing a second-innings target of 104, Donemana lost five wickets for just 10 runs in the space of seven overs, the unstoppable Thompson leading the fight-back with figures of four for 32.

Veteran Junior McBrine and 15-year-old Gary McClintock though came together at the crease to steady the nerves, with the latter, playing in his first ever final, hitting the win run.
