Dunamanagh healthcare receives £1.2m injection

HEALTHCARE in Dunamanagh received a major boost recently through a £1.24m financial injection from Stormont.

A new purpose built surgery on the Berryhill Road opened in April and already has 3,700 patients from the Dunamanagh and Bready areas on its books.

The facility is a far cry from the old surgery house which served rural Strabane from 1954 until earlier this year. But while the surroundings have changed dramatically, the man behind the medication remains the same.

Dr Archie Fullerton has been the face of Dunamanagh healthcare since 1982 when he took over the practice from his father, also Dr Archie Fullerton.
Speaking to the Strabane Chronicle this week, Dr Fullerton said the new surgery had surpassed all his expectations.
