Happy ending in sight for Joe

THE brother of a Strabane man recovering from cancer has slammed the Northern Irish medical experts who gave him just nine months to live.

Sean McGarrigle attacked the “ignorance” of medical experts after his brother Joe was told the tumour which had threatened his life was now ‘dead’.

Joe has spent the last few months flying back and forward to the Next Generation Clinic in China where he has been receiving specialist medical treatment.

Latest scans reveal that the tumour has now fully disintegrated. While evidence suggests that the cancer has not spread to the lymph nodes, more detailed CT scans still have to be carried out.

There were emotional scenes as surgeons viewed the latest x-rays and the clinic has said it is so confident that Joe will be completely cancer free that they are willing to pay for any future treatments.
