THE brave neighbour who came to the rescue of the young family targeted by the Ballycolman hoax has this week spoken of the family’s terror.
Michael Lynch, who is also the Ballycolman area IRSP spokesperson, on Friday night entered the local family’s home when he became aware what had occurred, removed the elaborate device and threw it onto a nearby green area.
Mr Lynch this week played down his heroics saying that to him, the device was never viable.
“Those people were in a terrified state, a state of shock,” Mr Lynch said.
“I know the family personally and I can’t understand how or why this could have happened.”
