Rockin’ by the River festival off to a rousing start

THIS year’s Glenelly Rockin’ by the River festival got off to a rousing start when The High Kings packed the marquee for the launch on Sunday night.
The week-long event offers a range of activities with music, sport, bingo and strictly come dancing events topped off with a vintage rally and fun day this weekend in the heart of the Glenelly Valley.
Sunday also saw the launch of Plumbridge Cycling Club’s 25/50 mile cycle run in which around 100 participants took part in the festival’s first event of its kind.
Thanking those who had helped make this year’s event a success to date, festival committee member Joseph Carolan said the organisers were very pleased with the turnout so far.
