A FATHER and daughter pair scooped the top prize in the Glenelly Strictly Come Dancing extravaganza which was just one of the highlights of the week-long Rockin’ by the Festival hosted in Plumbridge.
A packed audience was treated to a sensational night of entertainment as eight couples battled it out for honours.
Now in its fourth year, this year’s ‘Strictly’ took on a slightly changed format as each couple taking part were winners from their respective clubs and colleges. Organised by Damian Devine, Eimear Lindsay and Dolores McAnena, those involved spent weeks rehearsing their routines to impress the judges on the night.
The judging panel consisted of four representatives from the Devenney School of Irish Dancing in Derry and Ciaran McGinley, who had participated in several ‘Strictly’ events in the past. Joining them was Tyrone Rose Catherine Sherry who was interviewed on stage and did a exhibition of her own Irish dancing skills.
