Cannabis factory smashed

STRABANE’S police chief says he is confident of convictions after officers smashed a cannabis factory in the town on Tuesday.

Separate addresses in Sion Mills and Strabane were searched during the operation and cannabis resin, herbal cannabis and cannabis plants with a street value of £15,000 seized.

Paraphernalia used in the cultivation of the drugs was also taken for forensic examination.

Two women, aged 28 and 53, were arrested and have been bailed pending further police enquiries.
