A MAN needed ten stitches for a wound after being viciously assaulted with a bottle in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The 19-year-old was walking home with his girlfriend at around 1.30am when he was attacked by a group of three or four unknown males at Bridge Street.
The man was assaulted and struck by a glass bottle across the head and hand. He was taken to hospital where he received ten stitches to his hand. The assailants are described as being in their early twenties.
“Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information to contact them at Strabane station on 0845 600 8000 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111,” a PSNI spokesperson said.
