ANDY Sproule is likely to spearhead the Dergview attack in Saturday’s North West derby clash against Institute at Darragh Park.

Recognised strikers Sproule, Johnny Lafferty and Warner Mullen were all missing for last week’s 4-0 defeat by Dundela at Wilgar Park.

In their absence towering midfielder Adam Lecky was adopted as a lone striker but in the second half the management team of Tommy Canning and Adrian Forbes reshuffled their pack with Duwayne McManus and new signing Gary Henderson playing up front in an orthodox 4-4-2 formation.

With new signing Derek Matthews still working his way back from injury, Sproule is likely to lead the line against his former team, who have taken four points from their opening two matches.

‘Stute will be coming to the Castlederg venue full of confidence, following a 2-2 draw with Carrick Rangers and 3-2 victory over Tobermore United at the Riverside Stadium on Friday evening.

So far Dergview’s form has been unpredictable. Following a scoreless draw at home to Bangor on the opening Saturday, the Derg men then recorded an impressive 7-1 drubbing of Championship Two side Ballyclare Comrades in the first round of the Irn Bru Cup.

Last weekend though the Darragh Park outfit were brought crashing back down to earth with almighty bump in a 4-0 reverse at Dundela.
