The annual Sperrins Walking Festival was officially launched in Plumbridge by the chairman of Strabane District Council, Thomas Kerrigan.
The festival gets under way on Saturday, August 4 and runs until Monday, August 6. Over the weekend there will be the opportunity for walkers to enjoy some of the finest walking, rambling and other activities, set among some of Ireland’s most spectacular scenery the Sperrin Mountains.
Cllr Kerrigan said “The Sperrin upland area is extensive, unspoiled and generally undiscovered, I am confident that the walking festival’s participants will enjoy a wonderful weekend of exercise, fresh air and craic, whatever the weather.”
