OVER 100 farmers staged a demonstration outside Strabane’s Asda store on Thursday evening in protest over milk prices.
The protest was one of several held across Northern Ireland in recent weeks by farmers angry about cuts to the price they are paid to produce milk.
On Thursday farmers urged shoppers to boycott Asda and called on the supermarket to “step up to its corporate social responsibility” with regards to milk prices.

According to Farmers For Action who organised the protest, farmers at present are being paid just 22p for a litre of milk which is then retailed by Asda to customers at 79p.
