Hats off to fabulous bluegrass festival

Even the mizzle-y-drizzly weather wasn’t enough to poop the bluegrass party last weekend, as the now famous festival at the Ulster Americanm Folkpark plucked, strummed and yodelled its way to musical success.

With the cream of pan Hiberno-Caledonian-Americana on offer, somehow the weather seems less important than it otherwise might.
Packed into the Ship and Dockside Gallery and savouring the ambience of the Pennsylvania Barn, those in search of live sounds at this year’s Bluegrass Music Festival didn’t have had to look hard.

From Cup o’ Joe’s melodious launch on Thursday evening, through the fiesta of Bluegrass in the Park to Don Rigsby and Midnight Call at the finale on Sunday evening, over 9,000 festival goers were – as usual – spoiled for choice.
