Sion Swifts Ladies under-15s created history on Sunday by winning the South Belfast Cup after defeating Linfield 1-0 in the showpiece final at Solitude.

A superb 34th minute strike by Cora Chambers proved decisive as the North Tyrone girls ran out thorough deserved winners.

Chambers, who earlier struck the crossbar, finished from 14 yards after excellent build-up play involving Ellie Duffy, Teegan Lynch and 12-year-old Jenni Coyle.

Sion created further opportunities to underline their superiority but in the end had to settle for victory by the minimum margin.

While there were a number of eye-catching performances, in particular, that of defender Duffy who had a stormer, this historic win what all about the collective with all 13 players contributing to a glorious triumoh that will live long in the memory for all involved.
