Top 10 blockbuster video games this Christmas

Video games are expected to be flying off the shelves once again this Christmas. And while 2016 has been a great year for gaming – with hit titles seemingly  being released every other month – a top 10 blockbuster list was not an easy feat.

However, we’ve sifted through our favourites from the year and included some of the most promising titles coming out around the Christmas season so you and your loved ones can game the hols away.

1. Overwatch

This bright and colourful team-based multiplayer first-person shooter is jam-packed with fun cosmetic character customisations and memorable maps, and is guaranteed to keep you and your friends entertained for hours.

2. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Call of Duty is back with its 13th instalment in the series. The first-person shooter features a campaign which returns to the gritty, large-scale war roots as well as a fast-paced multiplayer and a brand new ‘Zombies’ mode.

This game’s exciting new campaign also flaunts a brand new setting: space, where players can visit different planets, satellites and asteroids in the solar system.

3. Battlefield 1

4. Forza Horizon 3

5. Dishonored 2

6. Final Fantasy XV

This breath-taking title takes place on Eos, a planet similar to modern-day Earth. Most of the world’s countries are under the dominion of the evil empire of Niflheim, so protagonist Noctis Lucis Caelum goes on a noble quest to retake his homeland and its magical crystal after it is seized. The game features an open-world environment and an addictive action-based battle system.
