The first phase of a new Strabane housing development sold out in a matter of hours last week.

Harte and McGarrigle Estate Agent’s released eleven houses in phase one of Mourne Manor, on Bradley Way, at 9am last Thursday morning. When staff arrived to open the office at 7am, they found a queue of people outside their Upper Main Street premises.

“There were people queuing outside the office since 5am,” says Eileen McGarrigle. “They were really keen to get the pick of the houses. When staff arrived at 7am they made them a cup of tea and brought them in to warm up. We sold all the houses in the first phase by lunchtime.

“It has been a long time since we saw demand like that. It just shows you that if the product is right, people will snap it up. The houses are absolutely beautiful with a high-spec finish, in a central location, all mod cons and energy efficient. They are everything you could want in a house and that is why they were so popular.”
Eileen says phase two of the development will be released soon and she is expecting huge demand for the properties.

“There are 23 houses in total in Mourne Manor,” she says. “There are 12 houses in the next phase to be released. We have no date for them as yet, but I would advise people to keep an eye out for news.”
