HOLY Cross College have been crowned Northern Ireland Senior Schools Cup champions for a fifth consecutive time after defeating St Louise’s College Belfast in last week’s showpiece final at Moyola Park.

Goals by Teegan Lynch, skipper Laura McCurdy and Ellie Jay McMenamin secured a sixth title in seven years for the North Tyrone girls.

Mind you the Holy Cross girls didn’t get it all their own way. Their West Belfast opponents shaded the early exchanges and looked to be heading into the half-time interval with a 1-0 lead.

However two quick-fire goals before the break put the North Tyrone girls on the way to yet another famous victory. Lynch levelled matters by hammering to the keeper’s bottom left hand corner after stepping past two players on the edge of the box.

Shortly afterwards Lynch whipped over a perfectly-flighted corner which McCurdy powered home with her head from six yards.

McMenamin completed the scoring seven minutes from time.

DAVID Harvey says the SuperCupNI presents his County Tyrone Premier players with a massive test and a massive opportunity.
