Harte names starting 15 for Derry clash

The champions begin their defence against Derry

TYRONE manager Mickey Harte will give first championship starts to Padraig Hampsey, Kieran McGeary and Conal McCann in Sunday’s Ulster Championship quarter-final with Derry at Celtic Park.

The trio have all tasted championship action previously, but only as substitutes with McCann and McGeary being called from the bench on three occasions previously and Hampsey twice.

As expected, defenders Cathal McCarron (hamstring) and Justin McMahon (quad) miss out through injury.

JUSTIN McMahon has called time on a glittering career with Tyrone crowned by an All-Ireland senior triumph in 2008.

Ex-Tyrone stars say lessons need to be learned from Sunday's bruising defeat to Dublin.

A FIRST ever All-Ireland success in the new U-17 grade provided some consolation for Tyrone supporters last weekend.
