It was a mixed bag for North Tyrone teams in the All County League at the weekend with Ronan McHugh playing a starring role in Aghyaran’s comfortable win over Aghaloo.
The Tyrone panellist scored a total of 1-10 in a comfortable 3-18 to 0-09 win over the visitors.
All but three of McHugh’s points came from open play as Roger Leonard and Cathal Browne also found the net in the one-sided Division Two clash.
In stark contrast it was something of a forgettable weekend for neighbours Castlederg who went down 1-13 to 0-08 at home to Stewartstown.
Top flight sides Strabane Sigersons and Urney faired little better as they suffered defeats to Ardboe and Dromore respectively.
Despite five points from experienced spearhead Warner Mullen, Sigerson went down 2-14 to 0-10 with Mickey Lynn and Peter O’Neill grabbing goals for the Rossas.
Urney meanwhile were blitzed 5-13 to 0-08 by defending champions St Dympna’s with Ciaran McCoy and Sean McNabb grabbing a brace of goals each.
There was better fortunes for Owen Roes who remain top of Division Three following a hard fought 1-08 to 1-05 victory over Beragh Red Knights at St Mary’s Park.
Clann na nGael, who were gunning for a sixth win of the season went down 2-09 to 1-08 to Errigal Ciaran IIIs at Cardinal MacRory Park.
