More than 400 runners take part in Aghyaran 10K

Urnai Runners limbering up for Aghyaran 10K

THE annual Aghyaran 10k attracted more than 400 runners and walkers to the border village on Friday evening last.

The local Finn Valley club were very much to the fore with runners wearing the blue singlet filling six of the first seven positions.


The race winner was Dermot McElchar in an impressive time of 34 minutes and nine seconds, twenty seconds clear of his nearest challenger James McFadden who was also representing the Finn Valley club.

The top three was completed by Omagh Harriers athlete Adam Cooke.

Teresa Doherty (Finn Valley) was sixth overall in an impressive 34 minutes 58 seconds, less than half a minute clear of her closest rival Natasha Adams (Letterkenny AC).
