STRABANE man Brendan McColgan has returned to take charge of Fermanagh and Western League Division Three side St Patricks.
The Castlederg outfit were relegated last season and McColgan, who had two previous spells at the club, has been charged with bringing the good times back to the Derg Hoops.
The new man, who will be assisted by Aidy Laird, has wasted little time in recruiting a number of new players. This week he unveiled the signing of former Institute striker Jason McGrinder, Araon Gillespie, Danny Glenn and Ryan Molloy.
After confirming his appointment McColgan said his ultimate ambition was to get the Mitchell Park outfit back to division one.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge and I know it won’t be easy,” he said.
“I’ve been out of the game for two seasons but during that time I went to watch a lot of Irish League games. I thought long and hard about going back but I have missed being in the changing room, being out on the sidelines and trying to develop players.
“St Pats have a good nucleus of young players but they haven’t really pushed on because they were getting beat every week.
“The plan is to bring in a few experienced players to help them along.”
