Sponsored walk in aid of Knockavoe tomorrow

Pupils, parents, and The Friends of Knockavoe are inviting you to take part in their sponsored walk tomorrow morning.

THE Friends of Knockavoe are organising a sponsored walk tomorrow in aid of school funds.

Starting off from the school on the Melmount Road on Friday September 22 at 10.30am, the walk will do a lap of the town before returning to the school – and everyone is welcome to come along and take part.

“The Friends of Knockavoe are doing it and it’s all about raising some funds for the extra-curricular activities at the school,” spokesperson Julie Devine.

“We’re doing a collection while we’re walking along the road to hopefully gather those funds.”

The group is also asking for people who would like to help fund-raise on the day to get in touch. “People can come along to the school before the walk starts at 10.30am and come along for the walk if they want,” Julie continued. “They can also join in with us along any part of the route.

“We’re going down the Melmount Road, doing a lap of the town before going back up to the school. It’s not a very long walk but it’ll be long enough for some of the children taking part. It should be good.”
