Roes and Clann fail to reach decider

Cathal McShane and Owen Roes were defeated by Tattyreagh

No North Tyrone teams will feature in his year’s Tyrone club championship finals after Clann Na nGael and Owen Roes were both defeated in their respective Junior semi-finals at the weekend.

The Clann men proved no match for Clogher who scored three second half goals to run out convincing 3-14 to 0-07 winners at Healy Park on Frday evening.

Fergal McKenna (2) and Marc McConnell both grabbed majors for the winners with Gareth McDermott top scoring for Clann with three points.

On the same evening Owen Roes also bowed out at the penultimate hurdle.

A Cathal McShane goal midway through the second half left the minimum between the sides however when a McShane penalty kick cannoned back off the woodwork a James Darcy-inspired Tattyreagh pulled clear to win 1-16-1-10.
