A STRABANE beauty has proved that she really is picture perfect after she scooped the Miss Photogenic award at one of Ireland’s biggest beauty pageants.

Courtney Patton (19) a forensic science student, model and former Miss Northern Ireland finalist, took part in the recent Miss Galaxy Ireland beauty pageant in Dublin.

Although she missed out on the overall Miss Galaxy title Courtney was delighted to be named the winner in the photogenic category.

“Originally I was meant to take part in the Miss Teen Galaxy category but because I turned 19 on October 2, I was moved into the Miss Galaxy category which had 16 finalists,” Courtney explained.

“As part of the competition we all had to provide a headshot of ourselves for the judges. We were judged upon that in the photogenic category.

“Thankfully the judges scored mine the highest and I was announced as  Miss Photogenic.”

As well as taking home the prestigious title, Courtney also won an all expense paid session with one of Ireland’s top photographers, Robbie Kelly.

“I was so pleased to win the Miss Photogenic award,” continued Courtney. “It was nice to come away from the pageant having won this category and of course taking home the prize is amazing.”

Looking forward to starting university next September Courtney says this was her last time on the pageant circuit for a while.

Courtney added “For now I want to focus on my studies and moving to Liverpool for university next year, but in the meantime I will continue to promote my charities and enjoying working as a model for ACA.”
