Broadway is coming to town this weekend for a show stopping performance of one of the most enduring musicals of all time.
The Class Act Theatre Group are currently putting the final touches to their performance of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s record breaking Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat
Starring over 150 local school children ranging in age from seven to 18, this huge production retells the biblical story of Joseph from the Book of Genesis.
Featuring over 20 musical hits including; ‘Any Dream Will Do,’ ‘Go, Go, Go Joseph,’ Close Every Door’ and many more, this is one event not to be missed.
Taking on the lead role for the first time is Holy Cross College and A-Level drama student, 17-year old Jamie Gallagher. Leah McCay the show’s director and co-owner of the Class Act Theatre Group says Jamie is the perfect Joseph.
“Jamie has performed in a lot of our previous shows, but this is the first time he has ever taken on a lead role,” she explained.
“I am certain he is going to provide audiences with a brilliant and energetic performance.
“We have been preparing this show since the Summer,” continued Leah. “I have to give a special mention to the show’s musical director Ryan Quinn and our choreographer Emmett Stewart. Together we have made this musical as big, bright and colourful as we possibly can. It really is going to be a terrific performance, showcasing our amazing local talent.”
