THE first moves are being made to stage a reunion for St Colman’s pupils, over four decades after they last left the school.

Organised by a couple of local men – Eamonn Doherty and Tom McGrath – the event is being pencilled in for the Fir Trees Hotel – eight til late – on Saturday September 1 2018.

“Had it not had to make way for Holy Cross College, St Colman’s would have been 60 years old next year,” the local duo stated this week.

“As it is, many of us from the 1970 year of entry will be hitting the big 6-0 in 2018 or 2019.

“We are keeping the planning simple and straightforward; no food or entertainment is being organised, please just come along for a night of imbibing and reminiscing.

“The only optimistic note we are planning for is that Tyrone will be in the All Ireland Football Final which is on early in 2018, on September 2, so we could extend the weekend to watch it. Hope springs eternal!”

Please note that you do not have to be the exact age, if you went to St Colman’s around that time and you are in the area, please feel free to join in with the reunion.

According to Eamonn and Tom, further updates will be made about the reunion in the New Year.
