TRIBUTES have been paid to a well-known Strabane man who passed away suddenly.

Leading tributes to Adrian Devine was John Kelpie, the chief executive of Derry City and Strabane District Council.

Mr Kelpie explained, “I am deeply saddened and shocked to hear of the passing of our colleague Adrian Devine.

“As part of New Horizons Partnership, Adrian ran the franchise for the canteen in our Strabane offices and the Café in the Alley Theatre, Strabane.

“He was very well respected and liked by so many of our council staff.

“Our deepest sympathies today are with Adrian’s wife Joanne, his three children and his wider family circle at this very sad time.”

Urney GAA also paid tribute to Mr Devine. A statement on the club’s Facebook page read, “Urney GAA is saddened this morning to learn of the sudden passing of Adrian Devine.

“Adrian’s two sons Aidan and Daragh currently play for our youth teams and in the past Adrian himself has served the club on a few occasions by providing refreshments at different functions.

“Our heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to Adrian’s wife Joanne, his three children Caitlin, Aidan and Daragh and his family and friends at this sad time.”
