A STRABANE blogger and marketing manager has been crowned ‘Miss Fir Trees’ at a prestigious beauty competition at the weekend.
Twenty-three year-old Caoimhe Harkin from Strabane picked up the accolade at the recent heat of the Insanity Tan Miss Northern Ireland competition on Sunday, bagging a place at the grand finals in Belfast in May.
Caoimhe will be joined by 17-year-old Enniskillen student Annie Flynn, who was crowned ‘Miss Strabane’ at Sunday’s event at the Fir Trees.
Competition organiser Alison Clarke said Strabane didn’t disappoint in terms of the calibre of competitors.
“I am thrilled to be back my home town Strabane at the wonderful Fir Trees Hotel,” she said. “It was the perfect venue to continue the search this year and a brilliant night was had by all. Strabane hasn’t disappointed with the calibre of girls who enter, once again it was a fabulous night and a huge congratulations to the winning girls and a big thank you to all who came along!”
Last year’s winner, Anna Henry also congratulated the girls on their success.
“My year as Miss Northern Ireland 2018 has been a dream come true. It is something that I will treasure forever and I cannot thank event organiser Alison Clarke and ACA Models enough for giving me this life changing opportunity.
“I am so excited to get to know all of the girls as they embark on their Miss Northern Ireland journey and I would like to wish them the very best of luck!”
