AMATEUR boxing made a successful return to Lifford last week when for the first time in 14 years, the border town hosted a tournament, organised by the Raphoe ABC. It proved a thrilling night of action in the Lifford Community Centre.
There was plenty of joy for the home fighters, including Ballindrait’s Dennis Lafferty who recorded an impressive win over Carrigart’s Robert Caldwell, while St Johnston man Danny Duggan powered his way to a triumph against Letterkenny’s Michael Ward.
