AGHYARAN claimed the spoils in the eagerly-anticipated North Tyrone derby at Marius McHugh Park yesterday.

St Davog’s made the early running and a Ronan McHugh goal helped the visitors gain an early stranglehold.

The hosts though hit back and Sean Meehan found the net to leave just two points between the rivals at the interval.

Aghyaran though never surrendered their advantage and when Stefan Gallen got his marching orders for a second yellow the Derg’s number looked well and truly up.

In fact, the visitors could afford to miss a penalty late on when Chris Catterson denied McHugh from the spot.
