SBG Strabane were delighted to welcome back SBGi head coach, John Kavanagh for a much anticipated seminar.
Large numbers were in attendance and enjoyed expert tuition with John displaying some of his favoured techniques.
The seminar ran for over two hours, which went down well with the highly appreciative practitioners.John awarded a promotion to SBG Strabane coach Garath Vaughan, promoted to Purple belt, and offered the following words of encouragement: “Gareth has been doing a fantastic job with his crew up north and it’s an honour to promote him,” he said.
Two further promotions were made for Bryan Farrell and Davy McFeteers to blue belt.SBG Strabane are very fortunate to have local SBG and Bellator fighter James Gallagher train with them when he is back in town. Currently rehabilitating from a recent injury and not able to put time on the mats, he still is a valuable asset with advice and guidance. SBG Strabane would like to thank John Kavanagh and James Gallagher for all their support over the last few years.
As a small club we are making tremendous strides and it is testament to the hard work and dedication of coaches and members of SBG Strabane.Training is on a Thursday from 8pm-10pm and Friday, 7.30pm-9.30pm in a friendly and inclusive environment and welcome anyone wishing to take up martial arts or self defence to come along and have a go.Children’s classes have just started and run on a Friday evening from 6.30pm-7.30pm for ages 7-14. These are ideal for not only self-defence, but also to gain confidence which are both very important attributes.
