Castlederg prepares for biggest Dergfest

THE organisers behind Castlederg’s home-grown music festival are putting to the finishing touches to what is hoped to be the biggest Dergfest yet.
This year’s star studded line-up includes, to name but a few, world renown DJs Teddy Cream, Darude and Mark McCabe on Friday night, Country sensations Derek Ryan, Niamh McGlinchey and Jim Devine on Saturday and Castlederg  staples The Logues and platinum artist Mundy on Sunday.
According to one of the organisers, Seamus Logue from Logues Bar, the town is bracing itself for a packed weekend of music and craic.
“Preparations for Dergfest are falling into place nicely after months of hard work,” Mr Logue said.
“Setup for the weekend began on Tuesday morning and it is fair to say substantial excitement is building locally.
“Here’s hoping the weather stays good for the weekend – of course, if it doesn’t, the craic will be had regardless by festival goers!”
With Dergfest a roaring success in previous years, Mr Logue is confident this year’s event will be bigger and better than ever.
“We have a truly excellent line up this year and ticket sales have been very strong across all nights. The response has been very good and all signs point to another weekend to remember.
“As well as this, the council have been very responsive and have been improving the site, with further improvements to take place afterward.
“Council, organisers and volunteers have all been pulling their weight for what is always an excellent weekend for Castlederg.”
Tickets are currently on sale  for Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Logues Bar, MJ’s Bar, The Town House and the Derg Arms, or online at Advance booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
