It’s unsurprising really, that Strabane’s own Ninja Warrior, Paul Connolly is already looking forward to a few ice-cold pints of Guinness next month.
Before that though, the local man has a gruelling training session to complete not to mention four marathons over three days – each one a different discipline.
Undertaking the impressive mission – dubbed the ‘quadrathon’ – as a personal challenge, Paul is also raising money for the Koram Centre in the process.
“I will cycle a marathon from Strabane to Limavady on Friday October 26th – that’s the first marathon,” the former Ninja Warrior contestant explained.
“Once I get there I will complete another marathon on the SkiErg (skiing machine) at CrossFit Limavady, that’s the second marathon.
“The next day I will complete a marathon on the rower (marathon three). I will then finish by travelling to Dublin to run the Dublin Marathon on Sunday October 28 (marathon four).”
All told, Paul will complete a total of 104.87 miles in three days, followed by those “ice cold pints if all goes well,” he added.
“I’m also raising funds for the Koram Centre,” Paul continued. “They’re a great charity. While I’m looking forward to the challenge – I can’t wait, actually – I’m looking forward to raising a few pound for the charity as well.
“I’m also holding a prize draw for which tickets will be on sale very soon. There are some great prizes up for grabs. I would like to thank all the local businesses who generously donated prizes towards the draw.”
The draw will take place on Saturday October 27 just after Paul finishes the rowing marathon.
Anyone looking for draw tickets can message Paul directly on social media.
