McHugh expected to miss play-off

ONE of Aghyaran key players throughout this year is expected to be missing from their team for this weekend’s replayed play-off clash against Dungannon at Killyclogher at 1pm on Sunday.

Ace attacker, Ronan McHugh, sustained what appeared to be a serious leg injury late in the tie against the Clarkes last Saturday.

He is understood to have undergone a scan on the injury earlier this week, but is not expected to be fit to take his place in the forwards for the second instalment between the clubs at the weekend.

The Clarkes, who defeated Loughmacrory to reach the playoff decider have their own concerns to contemplate ahead of Saturday’s tie.

Their county player, Padraig McNulty, is getting married tomorrow (Friday) and, with most of his teammates attending the nuptials, it looks set to be by necessity a quiet night for them.
