A talented singer-songwriter from Strabane is hoping to release his first self-penned track as a single within the next month.
Adam Dolan, who comes from a well-known musical family in the town, is busy in the recording studio putting the finishing touches to ‘One More Time’.
This is the first song that the popular guitarist and vocalist has written completely by himself.
The 23-year-old posted up a 38-second ‘taster’ of the track on his Facebook page several weeks ago – and he has been overwhelmed by the positive response it has received so far.
He said, “There’s been a very good reaction to it. A lot of people have been saying that they love what they heard and can’t wait for the full version.
“That’s always nice to hear!”
Music, unsurprisingly, is in Dolan’s blood. His entire family is renowned for their musical ability, with uncle, Ryan, chosen to represent Ireland for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest.
Adam has been playing guitar since the tender age of nine and singing for the last five years. His music is a mixture of everything he loves, from pop and rock to American country.
While admitting that it was hard to pin down particular influences, the former Holy Cross College student said he was a big fan of unlikely global superstar Ed Sheeran, who has had a growing number of hit singles across the world in recent years.
The Strabane singer has also been inspired by the showmanship of legendary performers such as Queen’s Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley.
Well-known locally as part of the trio ‘Stage 3’, which he described as “more of a country sort of thing”, Dolan revealed that his solo work was his main focus at the moment.
He is hoping to be in a position to release his latest single within a month. Look out for ‘One More Time’ on online streaming services such as Spotify or iTunes.
A video for the self-penned tune will also be posted on YouTube.
