Hedges damaged in arson attack

 
FIRE-FIGHTERS were tasked to deal with an arson attack in the Urney Road area of the town on Thursday of last week.

A spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) confirmed they received a call to Koram Square at 2.06pm on Thursday, February 21. One fire appliance from Strabane station attended and found 20m of hedge and bushes on fire. The cause of the fire is deemed as deliberate ignition. 

Posting on Facebook a nearby resident commented, “So lucky. One tree off my shed that has petrol of the lawnmower stored there and the thing is dry as a bone. Would have went straight up.”
