Tyrone stroll to easy league win over Cavan

Tyrone 1-15

Cavan 0-9

TYRONE have clinched back-to-back league wins at Healy Park with this evening’s comfortable 1-15 to 0-9 win over Cavan.

In doing so, the Red Hands have taken a massive step towards survival, and the final scoreline was reflective of a dominant display from practically start to finish.

Mickey Harte’s men were aided by a stiff breeze in the first-half and opened up a 0-8 to 0-4 lead by the half-time interval, and Cavan’s challenge crumbled following the 38th minute dismissal of Killian Clarke for a second yellow card.

Peter Harte’s goal midway through the second-half opened up an eight-point gap which Tyrone never looked like relinquishing, while the game also marked the return of Connor McAliskey from long-term injury, and the Clonoe man weighed in with three points from the the dead ball.

Other good performers on the night were Donnelly brothers Richie and Mattie, while substitute Kyle Coney scored a sumptuous point from play with the outside of his boot.
