Beckett claims Captain’s Prize

GREGORY Beckett was a popular winner of captain Denis Geelan’s first prize on Saturday on a beautiful day for golf when his 65 was good enough to win by one from Paul Mc Laughlin and Kenny Henderson in second and third places respectively with a pair of 66s.

Gross winner was Ray Quinn with Keith Pollock, James Loughran and Stephen Lyttle taking sectional prizes. Seamus Mullan and Niall Miller won the 9s with Sean Mc Guigan winner of the guests prize.

Stuart Ballentine won the longest drive with Francis McGranaghan closest to the pin winner. Cyra Armstrong was the ladies 9-hole winner from Katie Ballentine in second and Bernie McGirr in third.

The week began with the Captain’s Seniors on Monday and John McCaffrey was gents winner with Maura McCullagh in the ladies.

Captain’s Mixed winners were Mary Glackin and Adrian Hamilton and Tommy Mutch won the Captain’s Shootout on Friday night.
