The scissors are out for Adhamn

A FUND-RAZOR within a difference it to take place in Strabane this Saturday night in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.
In short, Strabane man Adhamn Casey hasn’t had a haircut in over four years and he plans on using his long-awaited trim as a way of raising money for the charity.
Taking place at Dicey Reilly’s on Saturday, Adhamn is hoping to raise as much money as possible for the group.
“I haven’t had a haircut in about four years,” remarked the Strabane man. “It’s been a while. Basically, I’d decided to get the hair cut. It was time for it. And I was chatting to some people and we decided it would be a good idea to have something done for a good cause. That particular cause – the Alzheimer’s Society – is close to our family and so many other families.”
Whilst Adhamn will have his head completely shaved on the night, he says he plans on keeping the beard. To boot, the latter will be dyed purple, the official colour for dementia and dementia charities.
He continued, “Whenever I was chatting to the charity itself at the start… I thought that any amount of money I’d be able to raise would be great. I set a goal of about £400. But even now we’re on our way to that total. Literally any amount of money would be phenomenal.
“Online we have around £70 in donations and at a cursory glance, from sponsors, we have £166. Then we have a raffle going on the night and ticket entries for the disco on the night too.”
He concluded, “I’m blown away by the support.”
  • The fund-raising event will take place at Dicey Reilly’s in Strabane this Saturday from 8pm, beginning with a Game of Thrones quiz. As well as Justin Black performing live from 9.30pm a 1990s disco will begin at 11.30pm. Entry is £3.
